Musical/ Vocal Arts

Music plays a critical role in activating and synchronizing neural firing patterns that coordinate and connect multiple places in the brain. Ms. Ahn, our music/ vocal teacher, teaches our students melody, rhythm, form, harmony, and tempo through vocal instruction. Additionally, Ms. Ahn creates and presents our annual “Winter Program” to showcase our students’ music and vocal talents.

Dance

Our students have the opportunity to dance, create dance, observe and appreciate dance, and make connections to, with, and through dance to the world around them and, ultimately, to themselves. Our dance teacher, Ms. Nguyen, supports our students and staff in an annual “Dancing Diversity” performance each spring, celebrating the various cultures represented at Dr. Sammy Lee.

Visual Arts

Our visual arts instruction with Ms. Chung provides a path for students to move through creating, presenting, responding, and connecting within visual arts. While working in various mediums, the process components promote student discovery and development of their visual arts sensibilities and abilities as they mature in visual arts.
